Service, service, service...from the time we walked through the door. No one in lifeguard attire. No lifeguards in the seats-for the duration of our brief stay. Stood for quite some time at the front to pay-there was a teenager in a chair that watched us stand for a bit while we looked around for someone for which to hand our money. Once we payed, ($20 dollars-but we knew we were coming at the end of the day-didn't know we were coming for 20 minutes) the adult on site- I don't know her name as she refused to give it to me - gruffly informed us that "we're in adult swim, once that's over you have 45 minutes." Oh ok, thanks! Nice to meet you, too. So, ok, they don't know squat about customer service, but we're just here to swim, gonna let it go. We brought our daughter and niece and 2 minutes in, our niece said the lady told her she was wearing inappropriate swimwear. Never was approached by nameless lady. She just informed a 10 year old girl she couldn't swim. Looked like swim shorts and a t-shirt. What to do? Oh yeah, my daughter had a long sleeved swim top in the car- go put that on. Cool, now we're swimming again. Until- "That is inappropriate swim wear!" Eruh? "It's a swim top..." "No! Those are running shorts!" No they're swim shorts, but ok, whatever, we'll leave. I'd like my money back. "Oh no, you've been in the pool 20 minutes." Oh ok, so a dollar a minute. "No." And then she crows to my husband, AS WE'RE EXITING THE POOL to leave, pointing to his trunks, "Those aren't proper swim attire either!" He turns and looks at her, shocked, and says "Excuse me? Yes...they are." And indeed they were-I bought the blasted things myself. Did she want a peek at the netting? So now I'm ticked as she continues to argue her point over my niece. It's not appropriate swim wear. To which I reply several times, "We're leaving, what else do you want?" She follows us to the door and says she's not the one that doesn't want to follow the rules. Now, I'm just mad. I don't have a problem following the rules, but if you have an issue, you address the adult in the situation. She says she told my niece that her bottoms were not appropriate swim attire (and I'm now getting a-tired of hearing her favorite phrase) A side note-after speaking to both my daughter and my niece- She Who Shall Not Be Named never specified what was inappropriate although she told me she did. Repeatedly told me. Both girls recalled the conversation never including specifically what was not regulation. (And just to be clear, the rules on the pool link at the Roman Forest website state that "proper swim attire" does not include cut-offs or colored t-shirts. We were ejected from the pool when we were not in violation of any stated rules) At this point, I ask for my money again. I'm denied and then I asked for her name. "You don't need my name, you're the one being rude." Ah, my mistake. Never will go back, which is too bad-on the way there, I was just considering going ahead and ponying up the fee for a summer membership, even though it's mid-summer. Not now. I'll take my money and my family where customer service is valued and practiced and where we won't be ejected for following the rules.
